
With the continuing increase in electricity costs and being mindful of its corporate responsibility to reduce global warming by reducing its carbon footprint , CALTEX installed a new form of lighting in one of its’ Brisbane Service Stations CALTEX is the first service station in Australasia to install L.E.D . lighting (Light Emitting Diodes) in the canopies and retail outlets.
This form of lighting has been used successfully in America and Canada for years, in fact many cities are changing their complete street lighting to LED’s with enormous savings.
LED’ work on low voltage (12-24 volts) they do not give off Ultra Violet rays and are very much cooler to run, consequently they last much longer. The lights in the Caltex service station are guaranteed for 5 years.
